What are Ortho-K lenses?
Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is an innovative technique for correcting vision by gently reshaping the curvature of your eye with rigid gas permeable lenses.
It might sound quite drastic, but it’s a simple, pain-free and completely reversible procedure.
All you need to do is wear the Ortho-K lenses at night. They’ll work their magic as you sleep and then you’ll wake up in the morning with clear vision.
Throughout the day, your eyes and corneas will slowly return to their normal shape.
Will I be suitable for Ortho-K?
Ortho-K lenses are suitable for most patients that suffer from nearsightedness, up to about -4.50 DS.
We’ll thoroughly check your vision and examine the curvature of your eye before prescribing the lenses, and we’ll only ever advise you to go ahead with them if we think they will work successfully for you.
